Yes! At Andertons Music Co., you can part exchange your used musical equipment towards a new purchase, making it easier to upgrade your gear without the hassle of selling it privately. Our specialists offer competitive valuations based on your equipment's condition and current second-hand market value.
How do I arrange a part exchange?
We recommend completing our Part Exchange Enquiry Form before visiting our Guildford store. Provide details of your equipment, its condition and any accessories, preferably with photographs. Our specialists will review your enquiry and provide an estimated valuation. If you're happy with the offer, you can bring your equipment to our store or arrange to send it to us. Once we've inspected and tested your equipment, we'll confirm the final part-exchange value to put towards your new purchase.
Part-exchange valuations are valid for 30 days and are subject to inspection and testing.
How much will I get for my equipment?
We calculate our offers based on the price we expect to sell your equipment for:
- If we value your item at under £150, we will offer you 1/2 of the valuation.
- If we value your item between £150 and £1500, we will offer you 2/3 of the valuation.
- If we value your item at over £1500, we will offer you 3/4 of the valuation.
For example, if we expect to sell your equipment for £300, we'll offer £200 towards your new purchase.
Our valuations reflect current second-hand market prices and may change depending on your equipment's condition.
What are the terms and conditions?
To avoid any changes to your initial valuation, please ensure your equipment meets the following requirements:
- Complete: Equipment should include its original packaging and accessories, including any supplied case or gig bag. Original boxes are not required for guitars, amplifiers or drum products. Missing items may reduce the valuation.
- Fully working: We cannot accept faulty, partially working or incomplete equipment, or items with damage that could lead to further problems.
- Yours to sell: You must legally own the equipment, and it must be free from outstanding finance or other ownership restrictions.
- Software licences: Any software required for the equipment to function must be transferable to the new owner. Provide proof of transfer before bringing or sending your equipment to us.
- Condition: Any undisclosed damage, cosmetic wear or maintenance requirements may affect the final offer.
Additional requirements:
- Valve amplifiers over five years old require evidence of servicing within the previous two years.
- Equipment presenting a hygiene risk, such as headphones or in-ear monitors, must be cleaned. Strong odours may also affect the valuation.
- Instruments requiring maintenance, including replacement guitar strings, may be subject to deductions.
- We cannot accept equipment we can't test in-store.
Our specialists aim to test equipment within 48 hours of arrival. We reserve the right to revise or withdraw an offer if an item's condition differs from the original description.
