**USA Tariff Announcement April 2025**
The US Government announced on Wednesday, 3rd April, a new set of Global Tariffs. Given the timing of these announcements in the US, we expect further details to emerge over the next weeks and will continue to monitor the situation.
The PROCESS of buying and receiving goods from outside the US has not changed, but tariff rates and minimum threshold ARE changing and both these charges are based on the Country of Origin of the item/s you are buying.
Please see our helpful video guide - please note some of the information on US tariff charges is now out of date -
Summary of the International VAT and Duty Payments
VAT is paid at the Point of Arrival
VAT will be collected at the point of arrival of goods into your country. The rate of VAT will be that of your country. Click here for link to EU Country Tax Rates.
VAT will be calculated at the appropriate rate on the total net value or goods + duty where applicable.
Customs Duty
As well as local VAT, you may also have to pay any duty that is due. When your goods are despatched and arrive in your country you will be contacted by DHL and it is at this point that you will pay the local VAT & Duty due on your purchase. DHL have huge experience of this process and make it as quick and efficient as possible by completing and paying these on your behalf to ensure there is minimal delay to you getting your goods. Please note DHL will therefore include a disbursement fee for using these services.
